I want to take a moment and demystify accounting software such as QuickBooks or any other one. When you think about it, accounting software is basically data base programs. The old adage in the data base world holds true: “Garbage in – Garbage out”. Our clients find that much of their accounts receivable collection time is spent on collecting the information. They find many times the sales group does not get all the contact information needed. It is very hard to use the advantages of a platform that can fax, call, email, and write when there are missing street addresses, telephone numbers, fax numbers, or email addresses. May be senior management should give incentives to the sales group to collect the information. If the net margins of the company is 15%, not collecting on one sale means the company has to close 7 sales to make up for not collecting one. |
